1. It would've probably prevented Megas from existing. Which to be frank, are just broken af.
2. It would've made designing each generation that much easier.
3. It would've made each generation more engaging by putting part of the story telling into the actual design of the pokemon. Similar to how MTG has story telling within their sets.
4.It would've prevented stupid stuff like Alomomoloa. This and Bouffalant show that they've already tried to do something like this, but failed.
But now... it's a little awkward. They only did gen 1 pokemon. They kinda look like they're just making new stuff and dumping it. They also didn't make great cases for some stuff, like Raichu (he ate donuts lol). I understand he absorbed the culture of Alola, but other pokemon like Dugtrio and Sandslash got some good reasoning. Oh also, SANDslash should probably stayed a ground type.
