flat 1/16th damage ignoring type matchups
stacks twice for 1/8
deals double damage to anything with flying type, levitate, magnet rise or air balloon (ie anything immune to ground type attacks, inverse of spikes damage check)

They need to remove its typing effectiveness and make the damage it deals flat. Fire types have it hard enough as it is.

Fire types are a Godlike defensive typing for pivoting, resisting u turn and fairy stabs is great, steel got gud this time around and having a BTFO button to Scizor is great.

Look at Talonflame, this burd is an infamous tank in 6v6, the spdef set is infamous for walling almost anything unboosted, Garchomp stone edge fails to 2hko if burnt on the switch, Gardevoir can't 2hko, Rotom W loses the pp war, Slowbro is walled by taunt variations

Defensive fire is actually quite great.

Rock types are so disadvantaged that they really need more reasons to be used. Instead literally chansey can run sr.

I wish it didn't fuck over bug flying so hard. Bug/flying didn't deserve the enormous nerf. They're already so frail

That's how 'I originally thought it worked back in Diamond/Pearl, probably a shitload more balanced. More likely to kill something but doesn't stick around the whole damn game.

There's Pokemon that are good defensively but can be a liability to stall because of their Rock weakness. Charizard X is a good example since its ended up seeing some use on stall regardless.
