So it sucks when it counts because the rematches are just for fun and not a part of a challenge and the main battle is the first one

But the only E4 member that wasn't piss-easy was Kahili, and that was mostly only because she likes to use confusion bullshit. And her Crobat is pretty much impossible to outspeed and difficult to OHKO.

Except with few moves the AI is extremely predictable. Halu always uses supereffective moves where possible without fail. If you have resistant or immune mons you can trivialize him with swap-ins and he'll never figure it out or try to do any sort of prediction.

As an experienced ROM hacker, this is not how the AI works
GF is actually programming trainers to make the wrong move on a given ratio regardless of the amount of moves.
Also, cranking it up to 255 didn't make trainers smarter. Certain values work better for certain trainers.
