Also, cynic doesn't automatically equal edgy. Yes, he's the dark type kahuna, big fucking deal. He's the first character in pretty much the entire series who is even remotely believable. Everyone else is just all chipper and happy-go-lucky while surrounded by massive fucking pink bears that snap peoples' spines for funsies and a gang just invaded his town, took it over, and defaced it. He's stayed around to make sure they don't completely wreck the place and that they stay mostly confined to that town, keeping an eye on them while mostly minding his own business.
Not to mention, you know, his partner got fucking devoured by an ultra beast right in front of his face. I'd like to see you come out as anything but cynical after something like that happens to you.
