As far as cheating goes, RNG manipulation is the least offensive and the onus is usually on the developer to fix his systems rather than on the player who is simply using game mechanics in a certain way to get what he wants.
Then comes botting, which is very disruptive to the environment of the game as it automizes it and destroys the economy by taking time spent into the game out of the picture, as well as violating one of the main tenets of a fucking video game which is to play it and not manipulate the inputs so it plays itself for your benefit (resources, etc).
And then there is save editing, a very high form of cheating which skips all the middlemen to get the resources straight into your character, bypassing the game entirely.
On MMOs cheaters will use the highest form of cheating available, and that's usually botting. With his botting machine Verlis is cheating, but cheating very ineffectively when much cheaper and practical, faster options are available.
