unfortunately with the manga, because deluded fangirls spread lies during the time where nobody that knew Japanese gave a shit about the manga, everyone assumes Red x Yellow is canon and then lied saying that a 2005 poll said they were canon.
Then when you got actual translators to work on the series, they debunked all of that stuff and the author himself is pretty open to any ship with Red.
But then every new fan who reads the manga and looks for art will assume that it's the canon ship and then it destroys any other ships that the writer has kinda teased because of blind fangirls.
