Semi-related, do the UB's have the same catch rate as legendaries? I just accidentally threw a dive ball at Pheremosa and it caught it in one try, was just wondering if it was luck or if they made them piss easy to catch on top of giving us Beast Balls.

Beasts Balls give a really high multiplie so chances are you can catch most of them within the first Beast Ball. Regular balls have a 0.1x multiplier

Things like Phermosa are prety doable with regular balls, but you'll probably have a harder time catching something like Guzzlord in a Luxury Ball or something

Well it probably makes sense for Pheromosa and Kartana to have such high catchrates as you not only have to catch four of them but they are also frail as breadsticks.

Kartana is quite bulky on the physical side 59 HP and 131 Defense, while being a Steel type is prety good considering it's supposed to be a fast offensive pokémon

Their catch rates are all over the place, although they are still somewhat lower because of the non-Beast Ball multiplies

Pheromosa and Kartana have the same catch rate as Weedle (255)

Nihilego has the same catch rate as the box cover legends (45)

Xurikitree has the same catch rate as Chansey and Togekiss (30)

Buzzwole and Celesteela have the same catch rate as Dhelmise, Skarmory, and Snorlax (25)

Guzzlord has the same catch rate as Volcarona (15)

Legendaries have a catch rate of 3

Anyone who expected Lusamine to fight you on her own is just silly. You know people would hack the game to make catchable.

Also, Nihilego doesn't have any control over the person the take. It just makes them go nuts. She was still just a trainer.

I like to think Lucy was just a consistently terrible person and Nihilego did almost nothing to amplify that. Freezing Pokemon under guise of a animal shelter is the making of a serial killer, I doubt space-jellyfish put those thoughts in her head.

Shows what you know, baka. Gen 1 was originally going to have the trainers battle too. That's why different trainer classes exist, and why several of them carried whips. It's in the Capsule Monsters beta art.

Given how GameFreak struggles with new ideas and reverts to old ones, it's entirely possible that trainers doing some battling themselves is possible.

The idea of using a human merged with another Pokemon as a boss character in a Pokemon fighting game isn't too farfetched anyways, and would probably be a welcome bit of variety. Especially in a game that features two Pikachus, two Mewtwos, and Fire starters up the ass.

personally I think GameFreak is borrowing ideas from Colosseum/Gale of Darkness and sprinkling them into their games (rather than ever revisiting Orre or remaking them). either way the precedence for crazy Octomom is there and not out of place for the series anymore

Oh yeah, I forgot about that weird shit that Lysandre decided to put on for no reason when you battle him for the last time. It really does seem like they are borrowing some of the aspects of the games set in Orre. I kinda wish they would just drop the whole gym/trial challenge bullshit completely and worry more about telling a story like those games did.

I've heard he gives you more if you run out.
That includes if you have your pokemon hold them as held items, so you could potentially get a ton of them if you go through that effort.
