I don't know why they don't just add in a Jurassic Park-style area where you can catch "extinct" Pokémon with alternate forms. I know everyone's thought of it already, but it would be cool imo.

From a biological perspective It was really cool to see regional variants in SM, and had been a long time wish of the fandom if I had not been mistaken.
