its speed is awkward (max speed scarf comes 1 point short of outspeeding phero), it doesn't levitate so it can't disquake, it's squishy, and it doesn't get good coverage outside of energy ball. it's outclassed in TR by vikavolt and has to use scarf on other teams if it wants to have a chance. 173 spa is no joke so maybe it'll see use but atm i don't think it's very good.

So, did A-Ninetales drop off of teams for lack of offensive pressure? Looking at the top cut teams, it looks like it should still have decent SE damage. I know that it's damage isn't spectacular, but it had performed pretty well for me on my last team.

I like how Ray's video on the matter is mostly talking about how Kartana is very similar in physical bulk to Ferrothorn. There is really not much reason to use it.

Wondering if someone can give teambuilding advice? So far I'm thinking of running a core of sdgarchomp (main sweeper) and togekiss or clefairy/clefable (follow me support), along with megagross/m scizor (revenge killer+anti fairy) and potentially gigalith (stealth rock+sandstream support)

Just wondering how viable this would be, what else I could run, and if there's anything I should change

Battlespot has a dedicated vgc ladder this year, which is called the championship ladder. If you select the ladder called doubles it will allow megas and pokemon that aren't in the regional dex.

However, this is the thread for vgc so you likely won't get much advice for the ladder than allows megas here. Don't use stealth rock though. That's always bad.

Of course AV without investing in SpDef is worthless. If you used eviolite chansey without investing in Def it would also take hits badly.
Here, even saved you 68 EVs

I personally prefer Sash or Grassium Z on it, but AV does has it's merits I guess.

I want to run Garchomp, but I'm having trouble deciding on a last move and nature. It's for an Eevium Z team. Set so far is:

Garchomp @ Rocky Helment
Ability: Rough Skin
Level: 50
EVs: 4 HP / 252 ATK / 252 SPE
Adamant/Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Poison Jab
- Outrage/Rock Slide/Dragon Claw
- Protect

I want Rock Slide for the spread + coverage, but the miss chance and lack of Dragon STAB have me conflicted.

Thought about the TR thing too.

Would it be silly to have both on the same team? Vika for when I see potential TR setters, and Koko for when I'm confident TR won't come up? I like the idea of being able to Psych Up with a Tapu, but Bulu doesn't really mesh well with Krook and I'm not sure how I'd play Lele or Fini with the team.

So if you're at +2 in all stats, it's 220 BP.

Relatively powerful with Flare Blitz, Close Combat, Extremespeed or Overheat
Gets Will-O-Wisp and Snarl, which along with Intimidate can make many opponents do practically no damage
Big stats all around
A couple of other niche options like Roar and Helping Hand

Okay guys, I decided to put Fini in my team because I was using Toxapex and now the poor little guy can't do much anymore.

I don't have a fucking clue on which nature or EVs use with her.

I have an idea of using Moonblast, Protect and Muddy Water (to hit 2 guys, I even considered Dazzling Gleam instead of Moonblast but maybe hitting harder can secure some OHKOs). No clue about the 4th move.

I don't quite like the idea of making her choiced. Any tips?

it honestly is. i enjoy 6v6 singles on showdown because playing 40 turn matches on cart takes too long + it's harder to find matches on cart, but vgc matches are the perfect length and watching a good turn play out over 30 seconds is so much more enjoyable than 5

Nobody fucking knows when the Internationals will happen, but the next one is in March in Melbourne.
Top 8 CP in each region get travel money for the Internationals when they happen.
Worlds is in August.

Power of Alchemy could be good, but there's no reliable strategy. Even if you have a good strategy to ensure Muk absorbs an ability VGC doubles has a lot of switching, so it will lose whatever it gains on the switch.

It has got really good options for wallbreaking. Kartana can use leafblade to kill gastrodon and anything that relies on rain. It can also get sacred sword, which fucks up P2 pretty badly. Smart strike also helps it avoid memes.
