What's the point of this move? It's literally just a weaker Earthquake with a chance to miss.

Everything that get it also gets Earthquake, what was the point of even making it?

Earthquake in doubles hit everyone, even your partner, for reduced damage.
Earthquake also deals 50% of damage in grassy terrain.

Just for in game usage I guess. So that ground types have a nice ground attack without giving the player access to earthquake too early in the game.

Multi target moves get weaker when they more than one pokémon and get blocked by Wide Guard. Also, it doesn't hit your partner, that's why.

I was sure they were going to buff x scissor to 90. It was always disappointingly weak. You have a chitinous giant bug monster slashing you with two claws, which is less powerful than a fucking fairy flower playing roughly with you
