If I'm SOS chaining for a shiny Minior, do I have to break their shells to know if one is shiny or will it still sparkle and make a sound when it appears?

Or should I just breed one and get better IVs anyway

I'm replaying Gen 3 and up to get some unique Pokemon, what should I grab? I know I want the XD Togepi, Counter Mawile, and Softboiled Clefable. In short, which transfer only moves are useful, or at least have surprising niche applications?

How do you know if your Grimer will get Power of Alchemy when they evolve? I've bred 30 of these assholes while trying to get the proper IVs and Nature and they all have Gluttony or Poison Touch. Just wanna know for when I get a 5 in all but SAtk

There are also a couple of neat mons like Heal Bell Dragonite, Psycho Boost/Feather Dance Lugia and Selfdestruct Mewtwo which were unfortunately made obsolete with the introducton of new abilities or nerfs.

Boomlord unfortunately died with the SD/Explosion nerf in gen 4. Boomlax still has it's uses though, but I believe that one was later made obtainable in HGSS PokeWalker.
