If a Pokemon with Sychronize is leading the party, any encountered Pokemon has a 50% chance of having the same Nature as the Synchronizer. Thus people spam-catch Abras until they have a roster of Abras with Synchronize of all the Natures they want to acquire. Adamant, Jolly, Modest, Timid, Calm and Bold being the obligatory basics.
It is standard to purposefully faint the Synchronizer but keep it at the front of the party- out-of-battle effects don't acquire the lead to be conscious.
Once you have a Adamant Sychronizer in this case, you can go out and encounter Scythers, and half of them will be Adamant. You could also go and catch Dittos, and half of them would be Adamant. You can use either one to pass on the Nature- naturally, a Ditto has more long-term benefit.
For IVs:

You can breed repeatedly and swap out one of the current breeding Pokemon once of the offspring possesses better IVs, and you can keep "climbing" from there.
Only some of the IVs are directly passed from the parent, Destiny Knot and EV-items manipulate this mechanic. Any IVs that aren't directly passed are just random, so they could be worse or much better than the parent's.
