Unova had some cute quadruped mammal Pokemon.
Deerling and Sawsbuck were both good, but god, Zebstrika looked ugly and Blitzle is a more likable design.

Aside from that, there isn't anything wrong with having horse-like Pokemon beyond fire unicorns. Zebras are distinct enough where it also isn't just "Unovan Ponyta"
