Out of innate distrust and curiosity, I decide to check on his backpack, and there was my fucking copy of Sapphire. I take it out, put it back in its place and decide to give him the benefit of the doubt. We play some more games and he leaves, I go check on Sapphire, and it's gone.

This shit had the nerve to take my shit, see that he had been found out, then take it again.

It is more gameboy related but I was at the library with a friend and he had lime green gameboy color. When we were heading home some kids pulls a knife on my friend and asked him to hand over his gameboy. My friend looks at me about what to do. We are around 11 years old so I didn't know what to do. I just shrugged and told him told give I guess he should hand it over. My friend handed it over, the kid ran away and my friend was pissed. I felt bad he got all teary eyed. I guess I would have acted different if it was my gameboy.

Every school holidays we go to our van and we never seen him again and the van he was in fell into disrepair.

Worst thing is it wasn't just holo's we lost, it was a number of event pokemon such as all the 1st pokemon movie cards 3x with Electabuzz being at 2x and some other stuff like some misprints.

We would of left the folder at home but surprising enough it was much safer with us. But I believe that kid was watching us from somewhere and it was mere luck that he found that folder or it was the shear amount of autism which gave him super powers.

I was like 6 years old and my friend stole my pokemon cards the day before he moved away. (That collection is prob worth some real $$$ nowadays too, I had a holographic mewtwo, a holographic machamp, and some japanese cards along with probably 200 regular cards)
