They understand they were born in the body that is theirs, and in most cases of non-binary genders in certain cultures, the 'third gender' is simply a blend of both, capable of fulfilling both roles, which is integral to a binary system of male/female, and therefore reinforces the fact that there are only two genders, even if they are social constructs.
