Why is this game so difficult? I've played all the Pokemon games yet everything else seems to pale in comparison to this game in terms of difficulty.

Also, why isn't this game talked about more?

The only reason why it would be "difficult" is because you're using Pikachu. Not that you have to use it, but with Pikachu's stats, you have to be overleveled with it since it will usually 2HKO anything that isn't weak to Electric, plus it's frail.

Because Gen I, while influential, didn't age very well. It's not a great gameplay experience compared to what's available these days.

It isn't a polished game; that I think everyone can agree on. But in terms of difficulty, it seems harder since the movepools for Pokemon suck and the special stat is whack.

Even though I use 2/3 of the starters, it still feels difficult for me compared to other Pokemon games such as Platinum or B2W2.
