I'm pretty sure that the "Genwunner" syndrome really only extends to people remembering the starters, the bird, the two bugs, the 4 legends, pikachu and eevee, since a lot of the gen one pokemon are extremely forgettable, or at least would be if they didn't fucking shove them in our face every game. Not to mention Gen one has the most brazen and most amount of "Literally just an X" pokemon of any generation, Remember Ekans and Arbok? Or seel?
