Fluffy works for contact moves, Fur Coat for physical moves (and the special moves that deal physical damage)

It's not the same. Fluffy protects against Grass Knot, Fur Coat does not. Fur Coat protects against EQ, Fluffy does not.

Well Chesnaught got WAY better once it got Drain Punch as a tutor move, so yea, I'd expect the same to happen to Bewear since Normal/Fighting is a MUCH better typing than Grass/Fighting.

Electivire needs two things to be viable: base speed increase and a decent physical electric move. Given the absolute dearth of physical electric moves, I'd suggest making a new one of giving an existing one more distribution instead of going down the -ilate meme path.

Give it Bolt Strike and +12 base speed. Congratulations, you've now created a solidly OU Pokemon out of nothing.

Also, would Fluffy buff it in any major way? I think that it would make more sense to have than Mold Breaker and would help him be the bulky attacker he's usually seen as.

There are no other good physical electric moves that currently exist that are non-signature

Wild charge is complete crap, spark has under 70 BP, and zing zap/volt tackle are off-limits according to you. At least bolt strike has a reasonable balance of accuracy and BP and electivire doesn't have gone claws to negate the 85% ACC like zekrom does

let's get one thing straight, electivire isn't good and never will be. Swords dance electivire would be shit because of wild charge being the best stab and intimidate + burns existing. Nasty plot electivire is outclassed by literally any other electric type. Mixed is all electivire can do to justify its own existence, and work up would actually help with that pitiful niche.

You directly implied it was. Zing zap is functionally the signature move of a pikaclone so it's off-limits to electivire. Unless you want to walk back from that exclusion now, you've got no other options.

Midday has decent stats, it doesn't need anything else besides coverage. Midnight needs either a good ability to work with what it's supposed to (Sturdy) or a good move to work with the ability it has (Head Smash).

you really can't put bolt strike and zing zap in the same tier and if you thought i was implying that you're genuinely retarded
giving more pokemon zing zap would be functionally the same as giving more pokemon iron head
giving more pokemon bolt strike would be more akin to v-create, precipice, spacial rend, etc

Other than that it works pretty well I'd say. I think dark type on it would be justified (unlike normal type on midday), and it would give it crunch STAB which would help a lot.

Midnight's "signature" move IS supposed to be Counter after all, and STAB No Guard Dynamic Punch is the tightest shit. And a fast, hard-hitting Rock/Ground-type is something the game desperately needs. And a family that encompasses all of the three types represented by Fighting in the TCG would be neat.

In OP's scenario, Electivire would also have Galvanize so SD Electivire would have STAB on Return and Quick Attack(!) as well. Nasty Plot is still meh. Work Up is garbage, especially on something as frail as Electivire; anything that's going mixed is generally better off running a fourth attack in that slot.

I just figured Serene Grace fit the most and would give it a unique niche. If it bothers you that much then reduce it's special attack as a tradeoff. That might make it OU but it wouldn't be broken. Either way it needs a new ability regardless because Liquid Voice is nigh worthless without Boomburst, which I'm guessing you wouldn't like either. Also it doesn't have the bulk to make Wish work well.

Honestly, Liquid Voice Boomburst isn't a problem compared to Serene Grace. Scald is just 2gud4me. Changing Primarina's Special Attack wouldn't fix much either, since the issue with the Serene Grace CM Wish set I spitballed isn't the initial power but the fact that it can turn damn near anything offensive into setup fodder with a relatively small amount of luck. Burns and a fantastic defensive type combo make up for its weak Physical bulk, while Moonblast drops augment its already worthwhile Special bulk. Wish keeps it from dying to nerfed attacks in between Calm Minds.

You say "small amount of luck", but the standard 30% burn chance isn't a small amount. As it is Liquid Voice is one of the worst abilities there are and does almost nothing for it. Just giving it Wish and nothing else doesn't really help it much, since the only way to work that would be with Protect, which not only takes up an extra move slot but is overly predictable.

The difference between 30% and 60% is huge. 30% is the odds that keeping a CB Tyranitar in against Mega Alakazam is going to end well for you. 60% is enough of a reason to run fucking Heart Stamp on Jirachi.

Primarina does need more than Wish, I'll give you that much, and Liquid Voice in its present form is worthless. Adding a 1.2x damage multiplier on the moves it affects would be a neat improvement to Liquid Voice, and I'd still be fine with giving it Boomburst on top of that because power without speed and bulk is manageable.

No, it is not the most used. For all battles involving a Gengar played in OU during October 2016 (month before Sun/Moon), Sludge Wave appeared on 39.352% sets whereas Sludge Bomb appeared on 36.639%. Sludge Wave becomes more common as you narrow your field to higher and higher ratings for the participants of said battles.

However, in every other format, Sludge Bomb 's usage exceeds that of Sludge Wave's. In Doubles, Sludge Wave targets both targets compared to Sludge Bomb's one, so that is likely a factor for Doubles, BS Doubles and VGC. In BS Singles, Sludge Wave is harder for legitimate players to use, which explains that away.

I don't even know who you were arguing with or why, but given this thread is "Buff a pokemon", I don't know why you're so upset. A pokemon can be buffed by receiving a move better suited for doubles. That's not an issue. It never has been.

To me, Delphox's issue isn't the design by itself, but more so the concept. Fox + wizard is a lame weak concept with very little to base itself on. Foxes are tricksters, disguisers, or dirty players, not wise magic practicioners.

Give it a Mega, but make it a very subtle difference. Just enough to make it immediately recognizable.

Mega gives it a flat stat boost across the board, I don't know how much would be too much. Maybe +30 to everything? New ability would be Trace.

Also, Mew should have a move identical to Sketch. I'm not even a big fan of Mew, I just don't like how overshadowed it is.

True, but with Sturdy/Metal Burst he can at least threaten Fire type attack users a lot better and Sucker Punch gives him something to scare away random Starmies with Rapid Spin or Ghosts blocking your Rapid Spin. It's less "he needs these moves" and more "here are some more options to deal with the growing list of threats". Plus, Sticky Thread is too good to pass up and helps differentiate him from Ferrothorn more.

Maybe have it such that there's some 'legendary TM' (flavored as some ancient power shit) that teaches Mew a reflavored Sketch. The item would have infinite uses, but the game would know if the Mew has used its !Sketch on something, and in that case it'd just turn the move back into !Sketch.

Mewtwo fucking sucks now and the fact that it didn't see any play in VGC 2016 triggers me so much. It's simply pushed out of the game by power-creep (Mewtwo X can't do reliable 50% to Xernias with a physical psychic stab) and if it had a way to deal with Groudon and Kyogre, it would actually be useful again.

That and Zen Headbutt is an awful move. The worst move ever made.

speaking of Fusion Bolt and Fusion Flare, they should become tutor moves. Luxray, Tapu Koko, and Eelectross would love to hav an actual physical stab electric move.

Gyarados isn't bad, but there's always been one thing about it that bothers me: the Flying typing. It doesn't make too much sense thematically, but it also seems to exist solely to as a handicap. It makes it even weaker to Electric, weak to Covert Cobblestones, and doesn't provide useful STAB. It only learns three (3) Flying moves: Bounce, Hurricane, and Hidden Power. Two of those are special, which Gyarados will never use, and the other is a two-turn move that isn't Geomancy or Solar Beam, so nobody gives a shit about it.

I think Water/Dragon is the way to go. Not only is it an incredible defensive type, it makes sense thematically as well, since something based on a Chinese dragon should be, well, a dragon. Pure Water also works. I do realize both of these would make it lose the Ground immunity, but I think it's a decent tradeoff.

Gyarados' whole shtick is that it never became the true dragon it was meant to be. Just a Flying overlord.
Also Flying type isn't that bad, it removes grass weakness while also giving resistance to fighting and immunity to ground. It's just that it doesn't have an amazing STAB to go with it (even thought Bounce really isn't that bad).
