Why did GameFreak only do Kanto Pokémon? Why did they only do Pokemon without split evolutions or Mega forms?

Is Alola the most cucked region in the Pokemon franchise? Even ignoring this, almost all of the new Pokemon in this region are extremely rare or downright hidden

I know these games don't take "evolution" seriously but the only ones in that pic that would evolve differently on a tropical island are Exxegcutor and Muk. It just goes to show how much they didn't give a shit about the idea.

Mongoose were brought into Hawaii in order to control the rising rat population that was destroying sugar cane crops. The mongooses were however diurnal, while the rats were nocturnal. Even it that wasn't the case, he's not the strongest trainer in Alola, he's just the first guy to challenge the Master in a battle. So technically he's as strong as everyone that challenge you at the league

Why would anyone WANT their bros to get an Alolan form? At least with Megas you still get to pet your bro in its good design in Amie/Refresh. With regional variants you're getting a brand new species that's cramping on your bro's style.
