I play as the female MC because I don't self-insert and enjoy eyecandy while playing my vidya.

I'm not playing as myself, I'm playing as a character who happens to be a cute girl. That's what roleplaying used to be during the tabletop days and still is for me, which is why I don't give a shit about playing a JRPG with pre-made cute girls for instance.

Plus the trainer customization is/was better with the female MC than the male one.

I played sun as the FMC and now started moon as the MMC and I'm already regreting it. I understand the game's intention is for us to actually roleplay and get into the MC (hence the lack of facial expresions) but I never could do that, so I'd rather feed my fetish of dressing girls
