If you're using luma, you can place the .ips files I distribute on your SD and skip code.bins altogether.

ips files go in:

Sun: sd:/luma/titles/0004000000164800/code.ips

Moon: sd:/luma/titles/0004000000175E00/code.ips

When putting the .ips in the folders for the respective games, what all do I have to do to the files from the github? I created the directory for them, unless I'm doing something wrong

Put them in the folder luma/code_sections and name them "titlekey".ips.
You can get the titlekeys by googling for them.

Pick the ips file you want, rename to code.ips get the nightly/hourly luma build then check off game patch setting on luma .

titlekey for Sun would be 0004000000164800, no? Naming it 0004000000164800.ips and putting it in luma/code_sections doesn't work for me, so I assume that's not the case

Hmm.. Maybe I messed up, and the .ips files are handled differently..
However, when the .bin files are posted, I can assure you that izlt is working with v1.1 since I already have it.

I don't have the cia on hand, and with my bad internet it would take me a few hours to download, get the bin and then patch it. I know how to do it, it's just the time it would take to get the clean bin again.

Step 1:
Download the latest .zip from https://github.com/d0k3/GodMode9/releases
Extract the .bin, put it in luma/payloads and name it y_GodMode9.bin
Step 2:
Download the SMPatcher from https://github.com/SciresM/SMPatcher/releases and extract the .exe file
Step 3:

Step 4:
Rename the .bin you want (either with or without outlines) to the titlekey and put it into luma/code_sections
Step 5:
Enjoy.

Bad example of pic but this might give you a better example of what your sd should look like. Make the titles folder inside the luma folder. Make a new folder inside the title folder and either name it 0004000000164800(for sun) or 0004000000175E00(for moon) Inside this folder put the renamed code.ips file. This is how your sd should look like(ignore everything else) the lumaupdater is the luma icon on the home menu that you should have if you haven't deleted it. Select the second option which should be the hourly/nightly build. Load luma and and check off game patch and it should work. Or if you want to try getting the code.bin follow this anon instructions instead >>31331496

OK semi-noob question

1. Been playing Moon since November on a legit retail cart
2. Just modded 3DS for first time, arm9/Luna etc, two days ago. Card now filled with FreeShop stuff.
3. Still playing legit retail version of Moon

Is there any reason for me NOT to use the regular eShop to update Moon?

So legit cart + eShop update = fine
Even with arm9hax and Luma

Can't speak to legit eShop version

Has anybody mentioned the azumarill model in the update yet? Because there's an azumarill model in the update, there's a new 'pokemodel' folder that wasn't there in 1.0, and I feel like that should probably be mentioned.

Anyone had problems with physically not being able to update SM? I try to go online, and it gives me an error telling me that i need the latest software update, yet it doesnt appear in the eshop. I was recently messing around with ctr-httpwn, but i have no way of knowing if that was the cause (it doesnt fix the problem either). Am I forever a showdown kid now?

The update being discussed in the thread is for QR Injection and removal of outlines on models in-game. That patch stops working in 1.1 unless you update the patch
