Now that the topic is brought up: Why is there so much unnecessary violence and death in the pokemon manga?
It's super weird and edgy if it's just there to make it "deep" considering the entire thing is worse than many fanfictions.

There's next to no death outside of past things and lore in PokeSpe.
Last time a bunch of people died in the plot was retconned by Celebi back in RS.

You know, I think pokemon is the only long-running series where all the villians (except gen 3, but I don't think it really had villians) were all unrepentant assholes
