To justify the cost you'd have to be utilizing multiple servers on a routine basis monthly, otherwise you're overpaying. $10~15 per game per month is the maximum you should pay for any online game. $60 a month means you are paying for 4-6 games' worth of online play each month.

If you don't have at least 4 games that you routinely play and enjoy, don't buy the online service. You're getting ripped off.

Wii U took about as long as the 3DS to crack (~4 years), some features (like Wii piracy) even less than that
Switch seems to be using the same or very similar specs as Wii U
I'm giving it two years before we start seeing the first flashcarts
