So... Pokemon was a successful franchise for being on affordable handhelds that everyone and their mother owned.

Launching Pokemon for the Switch is suicide, but the 3DS is getting old. What will happen now?

Gen 8 on the 3DS? 4DS and treat Switch as a home console?

I bought my og 3ds for around 250 ameribucks forever ago. I think it was a bit less than that. Maybe 230. I don't really remember. The point is, Switch isn't going to be that much more expensive. I just don't want it because it's gonna be the Nintendo Vita.

I'm really not sure this thing is gonna fly as a core handheld even if they are saying it can function as one, after hearing about battery life. The portable mode doesn't really look like something you can carry around easily ether.

I just hope this doesn't mean next gen is gonna be for smart phones...

Wash your mom's car and save up. This thing is like 50 more than the 3DS was at the time except the games already look way better than anything on the 3DS and I'm not talking about the graphics. I don't even remember what the 3DS launched with.

the battery life is between 2.5-6 hours depending on what you are plating. id imagine if they kept pokemon similar to what it is. the battery like will prob be a good 5-6 hours on a pokemon game.

I know what you are trying to say, but Pokemon SM are literally some of the most intensive games you can run on the 3ds right now. I don't know any other game that pushes the new 3ds to it's limits.

It doesn't even matter that much since you can just import from States thanks to no region lock

But I'm afraid mandatory paid online will shrink the online player base considerably. Pokemon online features are already total crap, now imagine having to pay for them. People will just start migrating to Showdown en masse, myself included.

Pokemon will be on the Switch, simple as that.

People paid $250 for the 3DS for Pokemon, people will pay $300 for that Zelda, etc.

Switch is basically a guaranteed success as long as Pokemon is on it.
