Also the pokébank as it currently is requires $5 a year. Just paying online to play battlespot, to use GTS and WT is way to much for most normal people and a waste of money + At the same time this encourages homebrew and pkhex even more if Homebrew manages to bypass the subscription costs Nintendo wants its switch users to pay.
When a mainline pokémon game will be on the switch I won't be suprised if showdown will become more popular than ever.
