I was saying this about 90% of the characters in sun and moon.
Got to the point where I was just skipping names and dialogue, no point making 500 different characters that have the exact same personalities that only exist to explain things or tell the player where to go next.

Except SM side-characters (minus the battle tree opponents and argubly two Kalos fags) are all likable and contribute to the main story in some ways.

i don't remember most characters doing anything helpful, they mostly just talked about boring stuff i didn't care trying to convince you "hey look at me i have a personality!"

Since Kukui researches Z-Moves, they needed someone for Alolan Forms. Since Alolan forms are of Kanto Pokemon only, who would fit the role better than Kanto's Professor's Alolan form?

While he was pretty forgetful, I liked the idea.

Yeah, the amount of cutscenes was excessive but at least the characters all had their existence justified. Some for than others.
Who is the dragon user on pic related btw? Never seen him in game.
