That's at least in part because SM are coded less efficiently than a high-school java project.

There's so much roundabout nonsense in here that there's no way the game wasn't rushed. Even Gamefreak's not this bad at coding. The huge holes in the structure make it seem like they were just coding the barebones while leaving room for the additional features, then got told "cut it off where you are; we're shipping what we can".

The 3DS is outdated, sure, but it should've been able to run SM fine if SM was coded anywhere near efficiently.

XY had nothing I think aside from Maison. ORAS had delta but then straight to the Maison. I've just finished the league in Moon and made it to the Battle Tree but I'm really hoping that's not just all there is to it.

With RS, that shit immidieatly died because you couldn't even complete the dex. After RS, which had 0 post game and 0 pokedex appeal, FRLG came out with post game. Emerald then came out with post game. Then came DP without post game. Platinum and HGSS had postgame. BW had no postgame. BW2 had post game. We were finally starting to see a pattern, but then the 3DS threw the fucking ball and we received 3 shitty games with no post game in a fucking row.

I can't help but wonder if the Yakuza runs pretty much the entire Japanese video game industry and has decided to scrap everything, starting with these meltdowns because it would be too suspicious otherwise.

The traditional handheld market is shrinking everywhere while the home console market is still going strong outside of Japan, it's no surprise Nintendo is trying to latch onto the latter by forcing the former consumer base into it.

And most people don't care about paid online, especially when the vast majority of people's first experience with it in the west was paying for Xbox Live or individual MMO subscription fees.

who said just in the case pkmn would be on the switch in the future that game freak will put pkmn into the nintendo servers? game freak got own serves and they will most likely remain free even when te paid subscription arrives. little big planet 3 on the ps4 also got own servers while other games required a paid playstation plus account

Everyone seems to really think the next main line game will be in switch. I wish i could be so optimistic. It took Gamefreak this long to reach Sun and Moon's standards of non SD character models and cinematic driven story. I really can't imagine them pulling a full budget console release game out of nowhere.
