>>31370927Quoting an anon from the previous Alan bait thread, because he perfectly summed up my feeling about it.
"I'll get the main thing out of the way first. I did not expect, nor wished Ash would win. Over the time I've spent watching Ash, I've stopped caring about him. It was especially bad for the past few years. In BW, he was just really annoying. And XY, his always smiling face with almost no personality got extremely annoying. I kept on watching because three of my favorite Pokemon, Charizard, Sceptile and Greninja, were rivals in this season, which was something I obviously liked. I would say it was a season made specifically for me if I didn't find Ash and Serena weren't so bad.
In BW, however annoyed I was with Ash, I hated his rivals and wished Ash would win, even though I knew it wasn't happening. In XY, though, it was the opposite. The Mega Evolution specials really fleshed out and warmed me up to Alan. I wanted him to win. Compared to Ash, who was just fighting to win and had a permanent smile on his face, Alan had actual reasons to fight and win, and was going through a time where he only really felt happy when fighting Ash.
And the battle itself was great. Pikachu taking out two Pseudos, Bisharp killing Goodra, the final showdown between Charizard and Greninja. There were a lot of great moments. I loved them all. Watching it live, I was excited as fuck. Since I wanted Alan to win, seeing his weakened Charizard go against Ash-Greninja, which just defeated a Mega Sceptile, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. And Alan won.
So to answer the question again, no, I'm not mad."
