That's ok, just make it possible to change.

The nature changer could be contextualized as the Pokemon learning the secrets of the mind from a guru or something. I thibk that's a big reason it hasn't been introduced yet, it's hard to add the mechanic without making it look like conversion therapy.

Make it like IVs and just make it superficial. As in, Nature remains the same but the stats it +/- to are changed to that of another nature.
