Too cartoony like Colours apparently. It's more about the tone and story being silly than "dark and serious" like the Adventure games, Shadow, and 06. Russians didn't like Generations either for some reason. It's a really weird thing I can't explain.

There are plenty of people who prefer Adventure era's storytelling to the more barebones stories of Colours and Lost World, but there are people who get really mad about the latter games.

I have never played Wind Waker but Twilight Princess is full on nostalgia pandering for both OoT and LttP.

Right down to having a light and dark world and the true villain being Ganondorf

Oh yeah, they're a small subsection. Most individual sections aren't that vicious, it's just individuals, like every other fanbase.

There's another subsection of people who worship Unleashed for it's "ambition" despite it's flaws and dislike how later games play it safe despite their better level design and no Werehog etc. They're probably closer to "unovabortions" but are very mild.

Godawful hybrid of classicfag and adventurefag here.

I don't dislike the cartooniness/wackiness, I just don't really like boost gameplay. Sonic is fine without trying to tell some serious story anyway but god damn how does anyone enjoy Boost?
