They announced fire emblem for the switch and new 3ds. That's the first handheld franchise. So if Pokemon stars did exist. It would probably cross platform. Probably without the old 3ds just new 3ds

It's probably not gonna last very long since N3DS is still weak as shit, so don't drop 200 dollars on a NEW 3DS to play like two exclusives if you have an OG one atm. Might as well just wait for Switch to drop a little more.

Why are they releasing everything on two systems anyway? BotW on Wii U and Switch, FE on 3DS and Switch and MK8 Deluxe is a port of Wii U game MK8 but with only a few extra characters and battle mode tracks added. But no extra race tracks which is the most important part of that franchise.
If you want to sell the Switch, this doesn't seem like the smartest thing to do but I don't know.
