At the beginning she was more and less shy, timid and very affraid of taking new risks in her life. Also, she had no objetive in her life until the point of meeting ash.
In the whole series, admit it or not, she has a good develoment as a character. She found an objetive to accomplish and a dream to follow, all that stuff mixed with her obvious love for ash.
So at the end we have the same "cute" (don't have another word to describe) female character who grew up and got very independent of herlself and that might be the reason despite of the amourshipping why people love her a lot. (not everyone but well..)
