No one thinks that though? Dhelmise is quite solid. It has reason bulk with a vest, good STAB in power whip and shadow claw, and access to rapid spin while also being a spin blocker. UU is kind of shitty right now, even still dhelmise is more then worthy of a UU ranking.

UU is also extremely volatile at the moment and is banning pokemon in sets of 5 every week. Honestly too, I'm pretty sure the general consensus is they are both garbage, but Dhelmise at least gets rapid spin and steel STAB.

Dhelmise not having recovery makes it a lot worse. Decidueye gets Defog to remove hazards anyways which is also fine.

I'd like to see your shit owl live long enough to actually use it.

And I wasn't implying I use Dhelmise at all, but from a competitive standpoint 3x STABs + Rapid Spin > Awkward middle teir speed + signature Z-Move. They're both destined for RU, the faster you admit this to yourself the better.

I'd say owl would be better if Baton Pass was allowed (and is better in OU, for what is worth) but as it is, Dhelmise is a better choice in UU.

Yes, if you're a 5 years old that whole argument makes sense, but it was written on the Smogon forums of all places. I like Decidueye more than Dhelmise design wise, but even just mentioning that you prefer using a Pokémon instead of another -on a battle simulator- just because of the design is pretty idiotic. Like, I get what he meant, I often use Pokémon just because I like their design or gimmicks, but it's really stupid to bring up the argument in the first place and it adds nothing to that particular discussion.

Dhelmise is laterally one of my favorite pokemon, probably in my top 5, but owl is more popular. Its a starter and based off an animal, of course its more popular then the pokemon with a 1% chance of appearing in one location.

Even then this is more about battle capabilities, where I do think dhelmise has the upper hand. Still too early to really tell though, we'll wait and see.

I've used Dhelmise on an anti-meta OU team that's peaked at 1740. It hits super hard and is great vs stall, also as a hazard remover that itself is immune to rapid spin (and does well vs common spinners).
