I'd argue all Mimikyu hate Pikachu out of jealousy, since they're so much more popular despite being way weaker than Mimikyu. Kinda like how /vp/ hates Zard.

Me too, I have hated pikachu with an undying passion since gen 4 when I started seeing it for the shitmon it truly is, my first version was Blue, so I didn't have the anime sellout edition where brock would steamroll you if you tried to use only pikachu

Remember the games had been around for nearly a year at the time the anime premiered.

Why the fuck would pikachu become popular from the game? His red/green sprite is so fat it looks closer to raticate than anime pikachu and even in gen 1 he was a complete shitmon, nigga couldn't even help with the first gym.

I don't think Pikachu is popular in the anime-verse as it is in the game-verse now; maybe that's why they made Mimikyu hate him in the anime, because they realized the popularity motivation would make much sense.
