Are the any Pokemon that benefit from Z-Moves, besides Porygon and Conversion?

Is there any reason a Pokemon should use their item slot for a one-off move?

For what it's worth, Dragonite, Salamence and Gyarados all got banned from UU because of Supersonic Skystrike. Skystrike Landorus-T and Bloom Doom Heatran are also a thing.

Many Pokémon can actually run offensive Z moves to great effect.
To name a few, Landorus-T, Magearna, Heatran, Tapu Bulu, Salamence, Volcarona, Scolipede and Terrakion are all great users of offensive Z moves.

As for status moves, apart from the obvious Pokémon, another great user is Rain Dance Manaphy. Some people run Z Sandstorm on SD Garchomp for a pseudo Dragon Dance. Tapu Fini can use Z-Haze as a pseudo Rest and I've seen people running Z Sandstorm on Nihilego.

They got banned because of just the Z-moves? How so?

Also Z-Stockpile and Z-Mirror Move interest me but I haven't been able to test them out. Are there any Pokemon taking advantage of these?
In particular I'm eyeing Wigglytuff and Dodrio respectively.

Interesting. It's Z-Fly for Dragonite and Salamence and Z-Bounce for Gyarados right? I suppose these guys can justify their item and moveslot for these.

Z-moves in concept sounded like ass compared to Mega Evolutions but it pleases me to hear that they're actually useful. The nice thing is that everything can take advantage of it.

Ah also did anyone try Z-Electric Terrain Electivire?

I tried Z-Electric Terrain Luxray because Intimidate made it easier to pull off, but just like Tapu Koko it hits like shit with anything that isn't an Electric attack or has a double weakness to Ice, at least Electivire learns shit like Earthquake, Cross Chop and I believe Stone Edge

Z-Fly kills checks. It may even put Landorus-T over the edge as not even bulky Grass types check it reliably now (it can also run Z-Stone Edge too).
Furthermore, Heatran and Volcanion also sometimes run Z-Solar Beam to kill checks

Offensive Z-Moves are just the second coming of type gems desu, and status Z-Moves arent particulary notable outside of Z-Conversion and maybe Z-Parting Shot.
Since everyone and their mother can use them of course they're not going to make much of a difference on tiers

Z-Fly makes it incredibly easy for DD Moxie Mence to get going. There arent many things which enjoy taking a 185 BP Flying STAB into the face.

On the top of my head
They're not as strong as mega evolution and not required to run one in every team but still a strong option in a lot of sets
Z moves are balanced

I think Z-Moves are a bit more diverse, at least for now

There isnt as much of a centralization as with Megas, where it was pretty much Mega Mom or Mega Frisbee or bust

I've seen a z-stockpile snorlax that also carried belly drum. If you don't know what it is about to do and kill it quickly it can be a pain in the ass.

Have seen a few z-mirror move users as well, but they used the move during switch ins because of bad prediction, so they basically wasted an item slot in a swords dance.

Because Z Drum guarantees you will ALWAYS get a boost off and have 50% health afterwards, Sitrus does not. Even if Sitrus heals you back up enough TO drum, you'll be knocking on deaths door afterwards.

What? Also the Breakneck Blitz thing is fantastic. Much better than Superpower.

The only scenario where Sitrus is better is if you get a Drum off because they switched as SOON as Azu hit the board.

Never-ending nightmare/Twinkle tackle on Mimikyu has its uses considering how you're guaranteed a free swords dance before you actually start taking damage. Its probably a really niche use but it can allow you to take out pokemon that would normally take two or even three shots to K.O.

They exist in the game data. What's stopping you from injecting it?

Also, why are you so hung up on it? Isn't Supersonic Skywhatever stronger than Flying Gem Acrobatics?

Triggering your Gem works on only one move, yes, but afterwards you still have a 110BP flying move.
Plus Unburden, obviously.
Flying Gem Hawlucha was pretty fucking amazing until it became known that it's unavailable.

I think that anon meant the figy berries and shit. In gen 7 they restore 50% HP when the user is brought down to 25% or less of its HP.

Z-belly drum is better for the recovery purposes anyways.

If Hawlucha trigggers you that hard, there's also that amusing old Slurpuff set with Calm Mind and Fire Gem Flamethrower.
Acrobatics Drifblim also works, but I prefer Weakness Policy+Endure, even if that's basically simulator only.
SD Jumpluff was pretty okay with a Flying Gem as well.
