you're a fucking idiot but true story: I had an irl friend who told me with a straight fucking face that he'd never actually beaten a jrpg.
... while he was doing elite 4 runs.
I honestly think that people don't think of pokemon as an rpg/jrpg.
He went on to try and argue that a jrpg follows specific formula, that pokemon didn't adhere to.
Specifically; "you have to start in a small town, and gradually become stronger as you journey across the landscape battling stronger and stronger..."
At that point he kinda trailed off... looked at me funny, and said 'well fuck you' and went back to grinding.
But seriously- somehow people don't connect pokemon and rpgs. Don't ask me how, but don't knock this guy TOO hard for it.
