That was shit. All the build up in the game only led to Lillie calling Lusamine poopoo head and Lusamine accepting that. That's was the result of those hours worth of cutscenes. It was pure shit.

Because it's the end of the main plot.
It shows Lillie's motivation paying off in that Lusamine showed a tinge of her former self, the self that Lillie went to ultra space to rescue despite the villainous nature that she expressed throughout the rest of the story.

One of the stronger scenes in the game. I enjoyed that scene.

If I remember correctly, the first line Lillie says when she confronts Lusamine is "Mother, you're horrible!" before she begins her full dialogue. This is likely what they are referring to.

I thought it was a good ending for the above-pokemon-standard story.
I know /vp/ is like the EO fanbase and dislikes predefined story compared to the room left for interpretations in previous titles, but the finale for Lillie's character development and the resolution of Lusamine's problem was done very well.

I'll agree on the latter, N was much more annoying, but him releasing Zekrom/Reshiram was probably his best moment. Zekrom/Reshiram appear before those who seek ideal/truth. In those two years, after he had gotten his ideal world/learned the truth, they leave him. Them going to Nate makes no sense, but that can be chalked up as postgame thing.

Player character is the main character. It's their story. Them being a bit special makes sense. Mary Sue would be someone the story favors even if it has to break the narrative and ignore the rules of its own universe. Which is exactly what happens with N.

They were when they either didn't try to pass as a "deep storyline" (gens 1 - 4 and 6) or they did it right (gen 5).

I just liked her character, it was refreshing. She had a very standard growth and change from a standpoint outside of Pokemon, but it was enough coupled with her other personality traits and plot involvement to make me care about her. I don't mean that she was the absolute best character in the pokemon franchise, but for what the game was, she was well done.
