Decidueye, Tapu Koko, and Mimikyu are the only really likely ones, imo.

Special mentions to Silvally, Incineroar (gross,) and Buzzwole.

Realistically Incineroar is probably the one who fits the best in a fighting game since his moveset would be the easiest to interpret.

Personally, though, Celesteela or Buzzwole would be awesome additions.

There is no popular Pokémon that Sakurai happened to choose by chance that Gamefreak approved of in advance

If there were to be a gen 7 rep, it's going to be hard to choose

But realistically we will get a Gen 8 rep

Fair point! I imagine it'd more to work with for projectiles than most close-combat fighters. I wouldn't know though, since I haven't played Smash in a long while.

Incinaroar wouldn't be very unique at all
Both of it's types are already characters in the game, niether Grass or Ghost have a character not to mention would probably have a more unique moveset, also is just more popular

I wouldn't mind seeing Silvally. It can already do a lot of things on its own and it'd be nice to see a third quadruped fighter. Not to mention that there's backstory behind it as well and that it would serve as nice flavor text for the trophy description.
