Greninja is a really frustrating piece because I'm frequently rolling 20s on Water Shuriken but he's fast. Emolga + Shuppet have great synergy, I can fly Emolga way ahead and if it gets attacked I swap Shuppet in and phase through. Bayleef is a pretty reliable Pokemon to send in and attack something near your entry point, it's got a pretty reliable 60 attack.

Metagross is solid as fuck, he's never been beaten. I usually drop him on the goal because his miss chance is absurdly small but sometimes I like to Volt Switch him in on the far side

This game is a lot of fun, even without most traditional Pokemon elements

Genesect as main rusher/frontline tank-ish with his techno charge and dodge.
Spinarak as my other rusher/annoyer who doesn't do damage but has a sizable purple patch. Also to block birds with his net.
Xerneas as my middle lane blocker.
Salamence as my multi purpose guy.
Giratina as backline defender.
6th spot is still undecided. Would be cool if I can get a good Fairy mon to take advantage of Xerneas skill but I only have Marill and Snubbull.

its a solid board game in the style of chess and checkers with cute and cool pokedudes to collect as well
good combination
decent level of grinding involved with fusion to upgrade your mons
and enough variety that you're not likely to encounter the same figs every fight (hopefully stays true when people have more figs sitll)

Why have I not seen any love for kirlia? I replaced emolga with it - it's 2 movement, but it has 60/40 attacks and a low miss chance, its purple is 2 stars and lets you swap with any of your mons (even in the pc), removes the opponent's mon, then you get an 80/50 gardevoir with a 3 star purple which can be used to force opponent's mons to wait.

I found the biggest issue with 2 vs 3 is going first. 2 movements of 2 get you close enough to attack the opponent's spawn, 2 movements of 1 and 2 is kinda garbage so you need a different mon to lead with.

Nearly all games contain some skinner box nowadays, especially mobile games. If it has levels or random loot drops, it's in there.

Go was JUST a skinner box though. It wasn't a design element it was shamelessly the entire game, not even trying to hide the fact or pretend otherwise. The only way they could have made it more-so was to literally just make it a slot machine.

Here's something to make everyone feel better about maintenance, in DBZ dokkan battle we had a 23~ hour maintenance and only got like 70 dragon stones (equivalent to gems costing 5 for a single summon and 50 for a multi but rates are garbage)

I'm not really fussed about the maintenance, had to deal with enough diablo 3 maintenance every week for the entire period I would have had available to play it
