No one believes legends about legendary pokemon and laugh at you for believing. Legends are catchable, but they aren't part of the main plot and are a series of sidequests more than anything. There are few legendary pokemon in this region and the ones that are around are clearly decrepit and old, like sitting in a cave for a hundred years made its flesh pale and joints stiff. Oneo f them is even kinda bad on purpose, like it's a legend, but its BST is only 450 and has a purposefully bad typing like Normal/Rock or something.
Some NPCs don't like you for no reason at all.
Extra ghost types this gen because spooky. Make sure most of the new pokemon in this gen aren't cute, and are kinda creepy or gross. Cutep okemon like pikaclones are rare and you have to go out of your way to find them much of the time.
Ghost-type Eevee that evolves from it dying to an Eevee-specific disease kinda like eevee AIDS that can be transmitted from the wild. The ghost looks perpetually sad but is still cute like all the other Eevees. Evolving it into something else, like a Glaceon or Jolteon or whatever before it dies is the only way to save it, otherwise it becomes a ghost. Because, lol, kill off one of the most beloved characters in the series (Eevee) on screen just to complete the pokedex.
