>>31554795The games sometimes do things different. The anime is an endless recursion of the same plot points with only some supporting cast changed occasionally.
I do watch specials like Origins and Generations though, since those are short and usually have different tones than the Ashnime.
I've told people before that I'd go back to watching the Ashnime again if Ash won a non-filler league or finally evolved his yellow rat into better orange rat, but neither of those have happened and we all know they never will happen. The SM anime looks like it stopped trying altogether, really, though I acknowledge some people claiming it looks better in motion, can't really judge there since I'm not going to sit down and watch more than Episode 1 of it.
