As a character, yes. I enjoyed his "help" banter throughout the story. Worst he did was be intrusive on the first island, but so is everyone else.
As a feature he was pretty worthless, I was hoping pre-release that the way finder system would mean they'd make a more open world, but instead I got the most linear and roaded off region yet which is a wonder after the maps of Unova and Kalos were literally designed like single subway lines. They should've had more options on the touch screen too, like swap the map for PSS and DexNav, but for PSS I get the feeling the reason they restricted everything to Festival Plaza to begin with was they ran into some problem with allowing online communications outside of that specifically tailored environment, related to the game requiring the "full" O3DS processing power and RAM like Smash 4 does.
