Due to a glitch, non-GameBoy Mark Safari Ball mons are banned from Battle Spot. That time literally GF forgot about their games, exactly like Sylveon's dex in XY.

IIRC, XY only gave you the regional dex awards if all the dex entries where filled with 6th gen native mons. So if you brought an Eevee from 5th gen in and hatched it into Slyveon, shit would fuck up.

Assuming OP means:

Gen 6: It sends a soothing aura from its ribbonlike feelers to calm fights.
Gen 7: Its ribbonlike feelers give off an aura that weakens hostility in its prey, causing them to let down their guard. Then it attacks.

Figured that was just the Gen 7 dex being the Gen 7 dex though (See: Araquanid)

All gen 1 imports are in Pokeballs. GF just forgot about Safari balls since they're only usable in gen 3/4. Not counting gen 1 here since they aren't saved as Safari balls.

Z-Parting shot and Z-Memento sometimes caused the game to crash. So they ended up banning those moves online until the patch came out to stop them from crashing the game.

All of a certain trainer class (I think Skull Grunts?) use Safari balls for their pokemon.
Also if transferred (I have a Safari Ball Rhyperior) they still pass down to the eggs.

They forgot to update the legality check for Gen 1 transfer stuff, and I'm not sure but I believe that includes the game of origin.

How the hell has Nintendo not stepped in or something since it's pretty much cringeworthy how much Gamefreak doesn't know their own game

I don't know, since cross-evos Gen I mons are banned even from Link Battles, Island Scans HAs were only working on Link Battles but could not be traded and Safari Balls mons can actually be traded over via GTS. I didnt test already, so yeah, I really dont know.

Just tested, it's fine in link battles. I lead with the safari ball marowak, and set up SR the first turn. Safari balls are OK in link battles, just not VGC and battle spot, I guess.

There are only about 12 evolutionary lines that can have that ball, HGSS only.

Maybe they should bring something similair back, it's been a while since we've had a catching minigame like that or the old Safari Zone.
