Mega steelix is a good design because it expands on steelix, being different enough to be distinct (mega garchomp, venusaur, lucario, sharpedo and more, for example, look a bit lazy) without being too crazy or deviating too far from the original like mega salamence or mega charizard x. The fact that mega steelix ties in a cute anime reference (crystal onix) and has a sick model/set of animations just seals the deal. Huge shame it's so shit. Give it magnet pull or something.
