Between Gladion's teenage angst, batshit family, and devotion to his dog it's not really a surprise that he wanted to avoid Lillie as much as possible, especially considering the fact that she'd just be a hindrance. She probably isn't too endeared to him either after he ran away without her.

Me too. It had the unfortunate effect of making it seem like Gladion didn't give a shit about Lusamine. It also meant we didn't get to see him actually do anything cool with Type:Null, which was a wasted opportunity.
