I honestly don't care the slightest about replaying them. The series repeats itself enough as it its, and it's my least favourite generation overall.

GSC to HGSS: 9yrs
RSE to ORAS: 11 yrs

I didn't even play FRLG when they were new because I wasn't even nostalgic for RBY at that point. They were too recent.

Bear in mind that HGSS was only on shelves for about a year, while Pokemon games normally get sold new for years after release. You can still go out and buy a new copy of XY at nearly any major retailer.
