If you want to stretch you can kind of see a pattern going with the choices. Compare them to the primary stats these classes often have in games.

Chestnaught - Strength/Grass
Delphox - Intelligence/Fire
Greninja - Dexterity/Water

Decidueye - Dexterity/Grass
Incineroar - Strength/Fire
Primarina - Intelligence/Water

Going by this, the next class basis should be something like

Grass - Intelligence
Fire - Dexterity
Water- Strength

Thief was the OD&D term for rogue, so that one gets a pass.

Primarina isn't really a cleric in any way. Nothing in its description or dex entries implies anything about religion.

Primarina has heals and the singing could be interpreted as hymns. Bard tends to be a class with at least medium if not high dexterity/agility and that isnt really represent in Primarina given its horrible speed. Also Bards tend to be physical damage focused with a bit of magic and Primarina is the opposite of that. High Special Atttacks but low Attack.
