Where how badass you become physically/spiritually is directly proportional to the badass shit you do. Even that crippled zombie that guy mentioned is a literally unkillable chosen one that devours the souls of every single thing he kills to further increase his power, until he's basically a boss character.
But yeah, Skyrim dragons are more or less wild animals that scream fire. They go down with enough arrows in the throat. The only advantage Dovakiin has over any regular angry enough Viking is that he can also scream fire. Link is kind of his own thing since Nintendo is a way higher fantasy, meaning putting realistic power levels on it won't make sense. He just has plot armor on top of a bow and arrow, a sword, and a few extremely situational trinkets.
