A shiny Dhelmise in Moon, a shiny Snubbull in X and a shiny Unown in FireRed.

591 (588 were all caught by me on multiple games; 3 are from Gen 6 events).

Shiny living dex count is currently 436/802.

Yes. There's always the chance that it might be hacked. Even if you've gotten it from a trusted friend.

I've hatched and caught 15 in Moon. I've gotten 3 illegitimate ones over WT (deleted one, didn't give a shit about the other two)

And I don't think I kept track of Shinies from back in the day like I am doing now. So who knows?

Unfortunately not. Hordes weren't so good to me so I never got one with its HA. They're Bashful, Modest, Hasty and Naive.

The Weepinbells are Naive-M, Sassy-F and Mild-F. No HAs for either of them as well because horde RNG.

Yeah synchronize worked and got a modest, honestly this is my longest hunt too considering I got the other legendaries in less then 3 hours of SR, (I got Kyurem in like 20 minutes)

I decided to get the relicanth because I liked it the way it was colored.and once I start hunting for a certain shiny I like, I keep going until I get it. I knew I could have fished one up in ORAS, but this was pre bank and I wanted one with decent stats and the correct nature, so that's how that torture began.

Thanks. I generally just pick a pokemon that has a good shiny and could potentially be competitively viable and just go from there. Hopefully some of the mega stones that are currently unavailable turn up soon, if at all.

You have 2.5 ways.

1) You have get a shiny Hawlucha via a Flying Friend Safari, but the odds of getting that now are slim.

2) You can do random encounters on Route 10 in the grass and try to get lucky.

2.5) The same thing as above, but with a twist. I used this trick to get my shiny Goomy on Route 14. You can use what's called a Repel Trick Method where you'll have a Pokemon with Illuminate (Staryu, Volbeat, etc.) that's level 21, and by using a Repel in Yellow Flowers (Hawlucha's level is at maximum level 20 in normal grass, while though it has a rare encounter rate, it is a max of level 21 in the yellow flowers), you'll have a chance of encountering only Hawlucha, Snubbull, Golett or Sigilyph instead of those mentioned 4, Eevee, Houndour and Emolga. You'll still have to try to random encounter it while on the repel so I recommend fainting the Illuminate-r and bring a lot of repels.

I'm not sure if you can use PokeRadar for one since it's a shit method but you can try.

Keep it as a trophy, occasionally use them in game in the tree. Might even battle my mates with them if they're a pokemon I hadn't considered until I got traded it.

no, but I can see why people wouldn't like that. It bothers me if the pokemon has a japanese nickname. But my mienshao is the only one so it fits I guess.
The OT thing doesn't bother me, just the nickname and the ball it's in.

I got a shiny Protean Froakie over Wonder Trade in X back when the games were still new
Initially I thought it was hacked but checked its IVs and found that they were literal trash
I evolved it into a Greninja and then Hyper Trained it

Happens every time they try to start it back up without fail for the past 4 years. There just isnt enough demand for daily shiny threads, so they only ever last for a few weeks-months after a new game.

Actually the rowlet is for a friend, he has been hunting it since for ever but he doesn't have the charm.
I got a shiny decidiueye in a wonder trade and I'm planning on giving him the newborn Rowlet for his birthday in march.
He also gave me his breedjects of gen 5-6 games (I don't have games of this gens) for my birthday, which was today, so I think this is a good way of thanking him back

I just hatched a MM Charmander, too 356 eggs. Only later did I realize that for thematic reasons, I should've hunted it on gen 6 to give it a Kalos Champion Ribbon

Also, it oddly had shitty IVs despite the 5iv parents. Lost the rolls and lost out on HA too, but it's not like it's missing Contrary.

So if your Trainer ID and Secret ID are within a certain range of each other in a gen 4 game the Cute Charm ability causes pokemon with 8 abilities to become shiny when encountered in the wild. Male cute charmer + 8/25 abilities = 2/3 chance of being female x 8/25 = 21.34%
You can choose the natures you want (I chose Modest, Timid, Jolly, Naive, Impish, Serious, Lax, Hasty as it's objectively the most useful combination out of the 3 groups). I got this to work using RNG Reporter and Eon Timer with no prior RNG experience in a few hours but it can be done in a much shorter time. Youtube has a bunch of resources on this.

I forgot how it works but in Gen 4, if Trainer ID and secret ID are almost the same number (I think the difference can only be around 10 at the maximum) it activates some sort of glitch that makes Pokemon of specific Natures spawn as shiny if you lead with a Cute Charm Pokemon
It depends on how close your IDs are and the glitch obviously doesn't work with genderless Pokemon
The range of natures is also determined by the closeness of your ID, as well as what gender ratios the Pokemon species have

The method is collecting box after box of eggs, open pkhex, see if any are shiny, then clear the boxes save the game and try again.

This method is the most efficient way to do this considering you can turn off the daycare lady's question on where to place the egg; to automatically send them to the box, so all you do is correct the eggs.

OT is Safiye and it wasn't hatched, but caught, so probably a chain shiny. At worst it was edited to be shiny and have a bottlecap.

In other news, just got this guy on the same WT run. Luckiest WT batch ever(also got an ovbiously genned Hoopa). This makes 4 total WT obtained shinys(compared to the 2 legit ones i have).

4IV is generally what SOS Shinies are most likely to end up with, so there's actually a pretty reasonable arguement there that this shiny is legit.

But why trade it off with a gold bottle cap? Who knows. It's possibly a legit one that has been cloned. After all, if it was hacked, there would be no need for the bottle cap.

Well, its less of a tell, more of a guess. It depends on a LOT of variables.

For example I got a hacked sheerforce shinytotodile day one when the bank event came out, that itself was a flag, but unrelated really.

Then, i traded for 3 shiny pokemon later on the road sometime after January, one was traded to me with the hatch date of the day before the day i got it, even though the guy said he got it a while ago, and the others I honestly forget.

its a VERY situational method, like if it was hatched day one of s/m

Basically allows you to skip all the time in the poke pelago at the cost of being locked out of certain time based events for 24/48 hours because you're changing the 3DS clock.

I never got shinies before gen7 and now I'm trying to get all the ones I want. Though the RNG abuse is convenient it's still a lot of work to get the natures, IVs, egg moves, and hidden abilities. I'm enjoying it, to say the least.

I wish I was trying since the start of gen6 though. I'd probably have more /vp/ friend codes for Friend Safari hunting.
