>>31649749The SM season so far has been really disappointing. Its defining features are SOL adventure-focused episodes sprinkled with over-the-top gag humor and "comfy" beach and island scenery/music.
The main cast is crowded as fuck and most of them don't do anything worth caring about. The plot might as well be nonexistent, save for the four or five Z-Ring and island challenge related episodes we've had. The school setting is horribly underutilized, with little in the way of actual plot or character development or drama taking place at the school itself. The art style on certain characters looks hideous. And the animation has ranges from very fluid and lively in some scenes to total dogshit in others.
It's not a terrible season, but it's a pretty lame one so far. Lame enough that most of the anime thread don't like SM either and the main "defenders" of SM end up just blaming "butthurt XYfags and Serenashits" instead of trying to discuss the show. Every now and they will have mostly respectful debates with someone who likes what SM is doing so far, but again staunch SM fans there are a small minority.
